Ridgley Makins

iZMO: R&B/Funk
Sub iZMO: Contemporary Funk

The new album from Ridgley Makins is entitled (FOR THE PEOPLE) if you enjoyed (THE BOOK OF SECRETS) then you are going to love (FOR THE PEOPLE) Ridgley stays with that same feel and then he turns it up a notch. On this album Ridgley shows more versatility in his unique style of music, mixing in his own brand of R&B, Funk, Hip Hop, and that splash of soul that makes Ridgley a joy to listen to. Ridgley Makins is one of the best kept secrets in music bar none. Simply put there are not many artists making meaningful music anymore and Ridgley is one of fineness I have heard in a long time. His first album was in a word great, but I feel this one has the potential to shake up the world. On his first album I was in love with a cut entitled (DIE) and I thought he could not top that, but he did with a song titled (Reject) I’m just going to say wow and let it be, I don’t want to spoil it for you. When this album drops check it out I think you’ll love it I did.

Story by Mark Ballard

It's the Book Of Secrets by Ridgley Makins, the music industry has'nt had an artist, of this calliper for many years and, it about time. The Book Of Secrets is a collection of songs written and, produced by Ridgley Makins. The album is a look in to the mind of the artist who he is and his views on the world.

Ridgley Makins was born in Washington D.C. The son of Ridgley C. Ballard and Brenda E. Makins he is the oldest of two children. Ridgley grew up in the East Capitol Dwellings projects and it was there were he began to develop his love for music and some of his views on America. He has spent many years shaping his craft. First as a young child in school talent shows and around the house. Ridgley loved to sing emitting stars like Marvin Gay Curtis Mayfield and for fun sometimes Elvis Presley. Later he would help to form a Hip Hop group that would be dubbed the Boss MC's the group was in mold of Hip Hop groups like public enemy and X clan. When the group broke, Ridgley would go on as a solo artist but would soon take a brake form music. Now this wonderful artist is back to try an raise the level of consciousness music. So take a listen see if it touches the rebel in you.
